Finally ..............

Wonder if my rant on Blogger's help survey about "I HATE CHANGE" made them decided to give me my old posting options back.  Format looked totally different and would load pictures but then they disappeared and would not let me post any text.

Last week when I went to the grocery store as I passed the orchards of peach and plum blossoms I wished I had my camera.  Tuesday when I was coming home from the feed store I happened to have my jacket in the truck with my camera in the pocket.  So I took a slight detour and stopped to take some pictures of a peach orchard.  I live right near the Fresno County Blossom / Fruit trail and love it every year when all the orchards are in bloom.

Peach Blossoms

I have been waiting for this Angora Doe to kid, since she was the first one I noticed an udder on.  3 other does have already kidded, now have 4 babies, 2 billies, 2 does and she just keeps getting fatter.

Almost ready to pick

Yes, that is the correct date, Feb. 16, I bought 3 six packs of brocolli plants and this is
the first head that is getting close to being ready to pick.  I tried cauliflower last year but
it did not do well, so this year I planted brussel sprouts just to the left of the brocolli and
there is arugula behind the brocolli.

Can't wait to get tomatoes, squash and some peppers in the ground.

Hernia

I have never seen anything like this, he seems to be doing just as well as the other billy.

Angora Babies

Kidding season is here .... both are doing well although the red one has a large hernia, don't know if it is going to be a problem, first time I have seen one like it.  Couple more does look like they are due soon, as well as the 3 Boer does.

It's Mama Pea's Fault ...............

Mama Pea over at "A Home Grown Journal" has posted a tutorial on crocheted rag rugs.  Today as I threw 2 feed sacks of hay rope into the dumpster a light bulb went off .................. I am going to start cutting hay rope next to the knots to get the most of each string and try to crochet a rug out of it.  Why not, won't cost anything, would make good porch rug, or dog rug, and when it gets too dirty there will always be more hay rope to make a new one.  That's all I need is another project.

Ok, off to my spinning class for the afternoon.

Lambs are so much fun to watch ...............

Playing King (Queen) of the Mountain (Rock)
Whenever there are a group of lambs they are so much fun to watch, the brown strip across the picture is actually a dry creek bank, a group of lambs will start running along the top, down inside the ditch back up to the top to the fence.  Then they will all pile up at the fence and the last one will spin around and run back to the fence at the driveway, and repeat, repeat, repeat.  Thought I would try this morning to get a video since there were 5 or 6 of them running the creek.  By the time I got my camera, put on my shoes, walked all the way out there they were thru running and playing on the rock.  This ceremony goes on with every group of lambs every year, just something they do naturally.  Maybe one of these days I will get a video.
