Almost ready to pick

Yes, that is the correct date, Feb. 16, I bought 3 six packs of brocolli plants and this is
the first head that is getting close to being ready to pick.  I tried cauliflower last year but
it did not do well, so this year I planted brussel sprouts just to the left of the brocolli and
there is arugula behind the brocolli.

Can't wait to get tomatoes, squash and some peppers in the ground.

  1. Broccoli's looking great! It must love your place there - The cabbage moths eat our cabbage and broccoli so I didn't put any out this year. Enjoy!

  2. That looks wonderful! I bought some Brussels sprouts at the Farmer's Market today but have never grown my own.

  3. OH your broccoli looks absolutely gorgeous! I am filled with hopeless envy; here in Kansas we would have to have a cold frame to get this much of a head start. Did I hear you say a real farm woman would get herself out to the garden and build one herself? OK, as soon as I finish writing the book I'm working on now...(sometime in July, probably.) What? That's too late for brocoli?? Maybe next year.

  4. I'm impressed with how big the head is. Mine have all been the size of a nickle.
