Shetland #4

Shetland #4 was born this morning and it's another little ewe lamb.  She is black right now but there is white under there so she will probably change to look a lot more like mama, Bunny.  I guess she is the Easter Bunny bringing me a lamb.

Wish you could smell my Lilacs, really feels and smells like spring.

This is an old conveyer bucket of some kind that was left here by previous owners, now a planter for Cilantro, Parsley, Napa Cabbage and Chard.

#3 Shetland Lamb has arrived.

When I went out this morning there was #3, love these Sheltands, so far these 2 year old

ewes have all had singles, no problems, all clean, dried off, and nursing by the time I get up.

When I first saw this one I thought "oh no" another black lamb, figured that was all my new ram

was going to produce but look close, there is some white, little frosting on the ears, now why couldn't this one  be a ewe, instead of an adorable ram.

I need to get busy and finish getting my "Wool House" ready before shearing starts.  

I took door off an old cabinet and painted with Blackboard Paint. 

Love the old mailbox and shovel door knocker.

I tried to hose off some of the dust and cobwebs off the outside walls but all I managed to do was make the screen door stick, I would sand it down if I could find matching paint color.

Tide seems to be turning ......................

Went out this morning to feed bottle babies and found these 2 little  guys in the

pen next door......

both managed to find breakfast ok...

Finally the weather seems to be warm enough that I could kick these two out

into the pen with the other babies and moms.  Fun to watch them explore 

that strange stuff called hay .........

but they still want their bottles ..........

after they finish their bottles and run and jump around you can hear the milk

sloshing in their bellies ........

Second of the Shetlands to lamb ..... another little black ewe 

hoping for more ewe lambs, but would like some variety in colors.

Busy week

The first of the 11 Shetland ewes lambed on Monday night, single ewe lamb

And Tuesday morning a new Dorper ewe lamb

Last Thursday night a Chocolate Angora doe kid

Also this little red doe kid from another doe

The dogs keeping the Shetlands company in the pasture

Do you think it's spring?  The Daffodils due

And the Willow tree does too

 And Mr. Pib is so ready for Spring and the Sunshine

I am ready too, weatherman says we will be in the '80's already this week.
