BUTT ........................

Hmmmmm, Pork Butt, Pork Chops, Pork Shoulder, Sausage,  Bacon, and more Bacon ............  Went to the sale on Saturday and came home with these two, the one on the right will go back as soon as I find some more at the right price, wanted two so the one would not get lonely but the one on the right is an intact male.  I will be going back to find some new buddies for the girl and let him grow here a bit in the next few weeks.  May need 5 or 6 to fill family and friends freezers so will probably look for couple little bigger ones next time.  Need to build a bigger pens since last time I raised pigs the pen is gone.  Projects, Projects, did down size some of the Dorper Sheep so I can keep more Shetland Sheep.

Then and Now

I took this picture last year on June 20th, several months ago I drove by after a heavy wind storm and noticed that it proved to be too much for this old barn.   I am so glad I got pictures before damage was done.

Since I had the camera with me today, I drove the long way home to take another picture before this old barn is gone forever.

Up early yesterday and noticed the clouds, so had to go outside and take a picture or two

There is a fire still buring in the Sierra's in Sequoia National Park ... notice the line of smoke
hanging on the horizon.

Just a reminder or two of the forces of Mother Nature .......................

Another Job for SuperBlogger

Please go check out The Stay @ Home-Gardener Blog .... http://thestayathomegardener.blogspot  and read the post on the City of Tulsa, Oklahoma tearing out woman's fruit and vegetable garden.  Maybe we can accomplish more since we were so fortunate to change things in Van Horn Texas.

Power of the Internet

For everyone that has been following the Donkey Roping Event to be held in Van Horn Texas .... the event has been CANCELED ...... Thanks to 7MSN Blog that brought this to everyone's attention and to all the Facebook and Blog people that signed the petition, sent emails to the Van Horn Chamber of Commerce and the Van Horn City Council this event WILL NOT be held this weekend.  I just received and email from the City Administrator.  Thanks to everyone that worked to prevent these donkeys from being subjected to cattle prods and roping and being called a sport.

Friday Fences .................. Finally

Whoppee ......... I'm Back .............. had to start all over and reload Google

This is a fence to a gated community a few miles from me.  I found this fence about 10 years ago and took pictures on film.  I took new pictures a week ago, now with a digital camera.  I need to go find the old pictures because sections of this fence have been changed.  The old picture had a figure riding a bicycle playing a saxaphone, that section is now gone.

This is what someone with a very creative mind, welding skills and old rusty junk metal can make into a fence.

Electronic entrance gates

Cowboy with a Guitar

Love the tractor

I took over 45 pictures so more may show up here from time to time.

Meet C'Oso

Yesterday my daughter volunteered to drive and go with me for the 3 hour plus drive to Monterey County to pick up a new ram from Trish at Sunny Side Farms.  This is C'Oso, he is almost 4 months old, and will be spending his time with yearling ewes for lambs next year.    I am sure he will turn a lighter color as he ages as he was black when he was born.
